Terms & Conditions – Chomolungma Adventures

Welcome to Chomolungma Adventures. We are committed to offering you a safe, adventurous, and unforgettable experience in the majestic Himalayas of Nepal. Before you book any of our trekking or tour packages, we request you to carefully read the following terms and conditions. These guidelines govern your interaction with us, ensuring clarity, fairness, and mutual understanding between you, the traveler, and us, your dedicated trekking company.

These Nepal trekking terms and conditions are legally binding once you confirm your booking with us. Please ensure you understand them before committing to your Himalayan adventure.

1. Booking and Payment Terms

To secure your booking with Chomolungma Adventures, we require a non-refundable advance deposit of 30% of the total package price. This deposit is essential to arrange permits, accommodations, guides, and other logistics in advance.

  • The remaining 70% of the payment must be made upon arrival in Nepal before the commencement of the trek.

  • We accept payments via bank transfer, credit cards, or cash (Nepali rupees, USD, or Euros).

  • Your booking is only confirmed once the deposit is received and a confirmation email is sent.

Our Booking terms for Nepal treks are designed to ensure operational efficiency and avoid last-minute cancellations or misunderstandings.

2. Cancellation Policy

We understand that travel plans may change. However, due to the nature of advance arrangements and government permit regulations, our cancellation policy is strict:

  • Advance 30% deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances.

  • In the event the client cancels the trip during the trekking period for any personal reason, no refund will be provided for unused services.

  • If the trip is canceled by Chomolungma Adventures due to safety, weather, or political issues, we will offer an alternative trek or refund based on unused services (excluding permits and transportation already booked).

  • Cancellations must be made in writing.

This aligns with our Trekking cancellation policy Nepal, which aims to balance customer flexibility and operational realities.

3. Changes in Itinerary

Our treks take place in remote and rugged areas where unforeseen events like weather changes, landslides, strikes, or illness can occur. Therefore:

  • Chomolungma Adventures reserves the right to modify the itinerary for safety or logistical reasons.

  • We will do our best to provide an alternative of equal or greater value.

  • No refunds are issued for services that are voluntarily not used by the client (such as meals, lodging, etc.).

4. Passport and Visa Requirements

Travelers must possess:

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date of entry into Nepal.

  • A valid tourist visa for Nepal (available on arrival or online in advance).

It is your responsibility to obtain the appropriate visa and travel documents. Chomolungma Adventures does not accept any liability for denied boarding or entry.

5. Trekking Permits and Government Regulations

All trekkers are required to obtain the necessary permits to enter restricted or conservation areas. These include:

  • TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card

  • National park or conservation area permits

  • Restricted area permits (for specific treks like Upper Mustang or Manaslu)

Permit costs are included in your trekking package unless otherwise stated. These Trekking permit terms Nepal are regulated by the Government of Nepal and must be followed strictly.

Failure to carry a valid permit may result in fines or being denied entry to trekking regions.
