Located in the Annapurna region, Khayar Lake is one of Nepal’s most scenic trekking routes. This is the path that was discovered after various researches. Unfortunately, this lake was far from being explored, so it fell into disrepair. After many discoveries and research, this trek has attracted many tourists. This lake has given a lot of beauty here. Khayar Lake is located in the Annapurna region. It is a very beautiful lake located at a very high altitude. Only a handful of tickers have visited the site. It is a virgin trekking destination in the Annapurna region. As it is located in the Annapurna region, its popularity is increasing day by day. Khora Trek is the nickname of this trek. This lake is full of innumerable pilgrimages from all around. The region is rich in biodiversity and culture. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri (7041 m), and Machhapuchhre mountains are attractive. Annapurna Khayar Lake alone is not enough to make our trek interesting. But the environment has a big hand in making this trek enjoyable.
We will start this trek from Nayapul to Annapurna Khayar Lake. Most of the trekking will be in the green valley. We will be amazed at the natural beauty. The hospitality and friendly demeanour will be so appealing that they will inspire us to visit this place again. Khayar Lake is our main destination. By completing our destination, we will reach Pokhara from the next track and finish. Annapurna Khayar Lake is a long and difficult trek. For this, you need to take good training in comfortable walking. We should have enough vacation time to hike and see it. We need permission from the Government of Nepal for our trek. It is not allowed to enter any hilly area of Nepal without permission. January, February, March, April, May, October, November and December are the best months for hiking. V Chomolungma Adventure Pvt. Ltd.’s team will arrange Annapurna Khayar Lake trekking with professional guides. Hiking days are made according to the choice of hikers. It can be made any day. Day 02: Kathmandu exploration and preparation for trek
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara (7 to 8 hours)
Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul drive & trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) – 3 Hours
Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 Hours
Day 06: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) & trek to Tadapani (2610m) – 4 Hours
Day 07: Tadapani to Dobato(3350m) – 6 Hours
Day 08: Dobato to Chistibung (3000m)–5 Hours
Day 09: Chistibung to Khopra Danda (4020m)–5 Hours
Day 10: Khopra Danda to Khayar Base Camp (4620m) – 5 Hours
Day 11: Khayar Base Camp to KhopraDanda(4020m) – 5 Hours

Arrival to Kathmandu.After landing the flight at TIA, a representative of Chomolungma Adventures Pvt. Ltd. will warmly receive you. We will shift you towards your hotel. We will enjoy a delicious dinner at night. After dinner is finished we will give a brief description of the Annapurna Khayar Lake Trekking program which is our destination.
Kathmandu exploration and preparation for trek.Today is the rest day and preparation day for our whole trek. Besides this, we will spend our remaining day sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley. Firstly we will visit Pashupatinath one of the holiest temples of Lord Shiva, Bauddhanath Little Tibet, and Swayambhunath Monkey Temple. Then from here, we will drive to Basantpur Durbar Square at hanuman Dhokha. Spending some time we will return hotel and prepare our trek for tomorrow.
Kathmandu to Pokhara (7 to 8 hours)Early morning after having breakfast, we will take a drive to Pokhara. It takes about 7 to 8 hours. During our drive, the spectacular view of the roadside houses with forest will be so much more enjoyable. After reaching Pokhara we will visit spectacular places around the valley. Lastly, we will return to our hotel for our night.
Pokhara to Nayapul drive & trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) – 3 HoursBeautiful sunrise will welcome our morning. In the rising sun the combination of Mt Machhapuchhre will be so much attractive. Then we will have our breakfast & drive toward Nayapul. After a drive of about one hour, we will reach over there and we will start our walking Journey. Since it’s our first day we just need to walk about three hours.
Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 HoursFrom our first day walk if we have a bit of pain in our legs. In low pain, we will slowly continue our journey toward Ghorepani. Our walking trail will be a fully steep hill. Ulleri village, a community of Magar people will be our resting point. Walking slowly in the forest of Pine and oak we will reach Ghorepani to spend our night.
Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) & Tadapani (2610m) – 4 HoursOur today’s day is taken as one of the important days of our trekking. First of all, we will hike up to Poon hill. From the hill, we can see the spectacular views of a combination of mountains such as Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal, Annapurna I (8091m), Dhaulagiri I (8167m), etc. After spending our precious time we will return to our place. We will have our lunch & continue to Tadapani for our night.
Tadapani to Dobato (3350m) – 6 HoursDobato will be our next walking destination. Our today’s walk is a bit easier. A beautiful forest of rhododendron is our main walking trail. And finally, we will reach beautiful Dobato village. Roaming around the beautiful area we will return to our place to entertain for some time and have a good night.
Dobato to Chistibung (3000m) – 5 HoursFrom Dobato our next destination is Chistibung. We need to walk through the ridge and follow the summit of Annapurna South per se. resting at many places slowly we will follow the path of Kali Gandaki Valley. Continuing our journey we will finally be at Chistibung to stay a memorable night.
Chistibung to Khopra Danda (4020m) – 5 HoursEarly morning after having breakfast we will continue our journey to Khorpa Danada. We need to walk at higher and higher altitudes which may create a problem in walking. Excellent views of Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna I, and Tukuche Peak will mesmerize us in our journey to Khorpa Danada.
Khopra Danda to Khayar Base Camp (4620m) – 5 HoursThe main day of our trekking is Khayar Base Camp is our today’s destination. The cool air will blow us which will refresh our minds on our walk. Our today’s walk is a bit difficult as we need to reach the base camp. Our surrounding is fully covered with mountain ranges. In this way, we will be at Khayar Base Camp.
Khayar Base Camp to Khopra Danda (4020m) – 5 HoursWaking up early in the morning we will spend some of our time roaming the places of Khayar base camp. For memory, we can capture pictures with our camera. Our dream of visiting Khayar Lake is fulfilled. And from today our returning journey starts. Khorpa Danada is our next destination. We will start after having our lunch.
Khopra Danda to Swata (2270m) – 5 HoursOn our returning journey, our next destination is Swata. Our returning journey goes through a different path but the track is the same Kali Gandaki. We will have to walk on an easy trail as we need to walk on a downhill track. Shrines used by pilgrims are passed on their annual visit to the sacred lakes.
Swata to Ghorepani (2853m) – 4 HoursEarly morning after having breakfast we will continue our journey toward Ghorepani. Slowly we will continue our journey and reach Chitre. Excellent views of the Dhaulagiri range can be seen from the zigzag trail. It will be full of enjoyment. Finally, we will reach Ghorepani to stay our night.
Ghorepani to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara – 4 HoursFrom Ghorepani, we will have breakfast and continue our journey toward Nayapul. We need to walk on Humpty dumpty trial of vehicle. From Nayapul we will drive back to Pokhara. We will be fresh after reaching Pokhara and spend some of the extra time visiting the area of Lakeside.
Kathmandu from PokharaEarly morning after having breakfast we will take a drive to Kathmandu. It takes about 6 to 7 hours. During our drive, the spectacular view of the roadside houses with forest will be so much more enjoyable. After reaching Kathmandu we will visit spectacular places around the valley. Lastly, we will return to our hotel for our night.
FarewellAfter having a night's rest in Kathmandu, we will pack our luggage to return to our homeland. We need to reach at airport 3 hours before the flight. Chomolungma Adventures Pvt. Ltd. will attend a small farewell program for you. We hope while returning to your home country you will think about a revisit to Nepal. We hope for your better journey.
